Save the Date for our 40th Season — December 13-15, 2024
Tickets will be on sale in mid-November — will post updates here.
GCB wants everyone to experience the magic of our Nutcracker, but young children and crying infants do create a significant distraction to performers and other patrons. Evening performances are restricted to adults and children ages (5) and older. Our matinee shows are family-friendly, though we do request no babes in arms. For the safety of all performers and enjoyment of all audience members, please consider whether every ticket holder is able to sit (without talking) throughout the entire show. If needed, Ushers will direct families to a viewing room in the back of the theater. Thank you for your understanding as we try to create a safe environment for our dancers and a positive experience for all of our paying audience.

Tickets are sold through GrizTix – please see below for all fees and important details before making your purchase:

Additional GrizTix Fees
Going in person to the Adams Center Box Office (and paying with check or cash) is the cheapest option. GrizTix adds fees on top of our ticket prices — the service and convenience fees outlined below do not benefit GCB:
Adams Center — Box Office Window (in person)
Hours: Monday – Friday (8:30am – 4:30pm, except legal holidays)
$3.50 per ticket (GrizTix Service Fee) plus 3% if purchased with a credit card
Note: ticket clerks are often UM students with limited training for non-athletic events (like ours). Be sure to choose your own seats (using a seating map) or the computer may assign “best available” seats that you do not want. Confirm your purchase — proper event, day, time, row, seats — before leaving the ticket window.
Online: www.griztix.com
$3.50 per ticket (GrizTix Service Fee) plus 12% (includes credit card fee)
By Phone: 406-243-4051 or 1-888-MONTANA
$3.50 per ticket (GrizTix Service Fee) plus 15% (includes credit card fee)
Cancellation Policy
All tickets are non-refundable. Performances are held rain or shine. Be prepared for winter conditions that might delay travel. Leave more time than you think for securing a parking space and walking to the building. Thank you for understanding that GCB has financial obligations to fulfill, and we are relying on ticket income to cover rental and labor costs.
If Shows Are Sold Out
There may be limited releases available at the Montana Theatre box office (first come basis) 30 minutes before each performance starts. Ticket swaps also take place on GCB’s Facebook page or the physical ticket board in the lobby.
Performances will be held on the University of Montana campus, in the Montana Theatre (which is inside the PAR-TV building, at the east end of 6th Ave, across from the Adams Center).
Flower Fundraiser
Through a partnership with our friends at Bitterroot Flower Shop, you may purchase a congratulatory bouquet of flowers for a member of the Nutcracker cast. Online pre-orders are encouraged (through early December) in our Store, and there will be a limited number of bouquets for sale in the lobby.
Concessions Fundraiser
In exchange for using the University of Montana’s concessions stand, GCB donates 10% of all proceeds to UM’s Dance Scholarship program. Limited concessions will be available for purchase before the show and during intermission. Due to the brief intermission time and the UM policy that no food or drink (other than water) be permitted into the auditorium, there will be no alcohol sales. Important: As guests in the Montana Theatre, audience members are kindly asked to respect UM policy and consume all snacks and beverages in the lobby area. Only water is allowed inside the auditorium. We constantly strive to ensure an enjoyable experience for all of our patrons — thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
