All Nutcracker performances (December 15-17, 2023) will be held in the Montana Theatre (inside of the PARTV building, which is at the east end of 6th Ave, across from the Adams Center) on the University of Montana campus.
Note: We may open our final Dress Rehearsal (Thursday, December 14) for ticket sales, TBD.
Tickets are sold through GrizTix but are not on sale quite yet. Please check back here for updates.
Important:
While we believe in making our show available to all, we are aware that young children and crying infants do create a significant distraction to performers and other patrons. After lengthy discussion and consideration, GCB decided in 2022 to restrict evening performances to adults and children ages (5) and older. Our matinee shows will be family-friendly, though we do request no babes in arms, and we ask that all audience members are able to sit quietly, in a seat, through the whole performance. Thank you for your understanding as we try to create a safe environment for our dancers and a positive experience for all of our paying audience.
Flowers for Dancers
Through a partnership with our friends at Bitterroot Flower Shop, GCB earns money when people buy a congratulatory bouquet of flowers for a member of the Nutcracker cast. Online orders may be placed in our Store, and there will be a limited number of bouquets for sale in the lobby over the performance weekend.
IMPORTANT — Please be aware of the following:
- Tickets are non-refundable.
- All evening performances are reserved for adults and children ages (5) and older.
- Every person entering the theater, of any age, is required to have a ticket and sit in a seat (not a lap). Please use your discretion if bringing a child younger than five years.
- Please, no babes in arms for any of the shows. This is for the safety of our performers and the enjoyment of all patrons.
- Patrons arriving late (after the show has started) will not be seated until intermission.

ALERT — Tickets are paperless (delivered to a smart phone). Be sure to download mobile tickets before arriving at the theater. Make sure you can see a QR code on your mobile ticket. There will be no will call services to pick up printed tickets.
Cancellation Policy: All tickets are non-refundable.
Performances are held rain or shine. Be prepared for winter weather conditions that might delay travel plans to the Montana Theatre. If we are ordered to shut down (i.e. by federal, state, county, city, university, etc. regulations or mandates that are out of GCB’s control) due to COVID-19, your ticket expense can become a 100% tax-deductible donation to our nonprofit organization (and GCB will issue you a tax receipt upon request). Thank you for understanding that we have financial obligations to fulfill, and we are relying on ticket income to cover costs.
Other Important Details:
- Masking may be required (TBD).
- All seats are reserved.
- Keep in mind that many ticket clerks are UM students with limited training for non-athletic events (like ours). Be sure to choose your own seats (using a seating map) or the computer may assign “best available” seats that you do not want. Confirm your purchase — proper event, day, time, row, seats — before leaving the ticket window.
- There are no discount prices for students, seniors, or children.
- For the safety of all performers and enjoyment of all audience members, please consider whether all ticket holders are able to sit quietly in a seat throughout the entire show.
- The performance runs approximately 2 hours, with one 20-minute intermission. Due to policy changes at the University of Montana, there will be no concessions.
- Patrons may bring a personal closed-top water bottle (no drink cups with straws or disposable to-go cups). Other than water, no food or beverage will be allowed in the theater.
- Parking on campus is limited and restricted; please check with Campus Parking for details.
- ADA seating requests may be accommodated by calling GrizTix.
